B-CC’s Journalism program has had many highlights over the last two years:

 

• An array of provocative, engaging articles and editorials
• The Columbia Scholastic Press Silver Crown (awarded to tattlerextra.org in March 2010)
• The 2010 Writers’ Roundtable featuring, Ron Charles, Washington Post, Janet Hook, Los Angeles Times, and Richard L. Harris, ABC News
• The enrollments in Journalism I, Journalism II and Tattler have more than doubled in less than a year
• Five critically-praised editions of The Tattler in 2010-2011
• The unexpected, energizing compliment by John Harwood (see above)

 

 

 

These accomplishments have been great. Yet, our goals for 2011-2012 are even more ambitious.

 

• Increase The Tattler’s consistency and regularity: the single, biggest change to The Tattler next year will be the frequency of editions. Our goal is to print twice as many editions as we did in 2010-2011, making The Tattler a monthly publication.

 

 

 

• Increase The Tattler’s relevance: by coming out more often, we want to become an essential source of information and news happening in the greater B-CC community.

 

 

 

• Increase diversity: we have plans to actively and creatively seek stories and submissions from every corner of the B-CC community.

 

 

 

Our goals are large. Yet, with your help, we are confident that we can reach every one.
