With all the hardships the Washington Football Team faced this season nobody seemed to believe in them. When they were done getting through one challenge another one appeared. It was like they were climbing a never-ending hill. But they persevered through all of that and ended the season with a 7-9 record, which was just enough to win the NFC East and punch a ticket into the NFL playoffs.

With all the hardships the Washington Football Team faced this season nobody seemed to believe in them. When they were done getting through one challenge another one appeared. It was like they were climbing a never-ending hill. But they persevered through all of that and ended the season with a 7-9 record, which was just enough to win the NFC East and punch a ticket into the NFL playoffs.Right before the start of the season in August Ron Riveria, the WFT head coach was diagnosed with squamous cell cancer in his lymph nodes. He went through seven rounds of treatment and in late October he was able to ring the bell signifying that he was done with his treatment and he had beaten cancer. They of course couldn’t come up with a name before the start of the season so they had to be the team with no name. It was joked upon during the whole season how teams were losing to the team with no name. They were pictured as this nobody team and so they had to show the doubters who they were.

When they started the season slow they decided to make a huge decision at their quarterback role. They were going to start the man that has gone through so much. The man that was supposed to never play football again, the man who was never supposed to walk again, the man who was supposed to have his leg amputated. That man was Alex Smith. He did not let any of that stuff affect him. He showed who he truly was and the fighter within him. And he did what he set out to do. He led the team with no name to their first postseason appearance since 2015. He went 5-1 as their starting quarterback.

They are getting some momentum under them after a strong end to the season and are set to take on Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They are hungry to take down the team with one of the greatest quarterbacks ever. And they might have a fighting chance at it.
