Let me start by saying I was not scheduled to review this game, infant nobody was, which is a shame because this is a good game. As long as you like RPGs, if not don’t play this game…why?…well because this is a PURE RPG this is what most RPGs try to do but cant. Now you might be asking “Well what makes this game so good so PURE as you say?” well (in 50′s to 70′s instructional video voice) I’ll tell you Johny(voice ends)… it’s because the game drops you in to the world and doesn’t tell you what to do or where to go or who to talk to. the game drops you in to a living world and says go do what ever the hell you want. Well it doesn’t even say that it just lets you figure out what to do. Well to show you its brilliance i would have to play this in front of you and I’m not going to do that so ill do the next best thing…I’ll explain it to you.
The game takes place in what would be our dark ages, the thing about most games in that era is that they involve magic but this doesn’t, in fact this is an extraordinarily realistic game and is still very fun. Witch is not an easy task, the game is set in a fictional realm called Calradia, with 6 different factions all including a king and most with someone trying to over throw that king. You, the random person with a horse and a sword can literally do what ever the hell you want, recruit villagers to raise an army, join a faction, take a castle, pillage a town, fight bandits, or so on.
Realism is a good thing when used properly, and its used properly. Fore example you can do more damage on a horse using a lance than when on foot using a knife or lance. Another aspect of realism is that the political system is revolutionary for an RPG, you can start as a mercenary and eventually become king (witch may take 2-3 game years).
Although the game has many up sides there are down sides, this is one of those games that you can play for hours than get really pissed at, then really want to play it and only play it for like 5 minutes. Another potential down side is that the game will force you to make a steam account witch is not horrible but it also means you may not be able to play this without an internet connection, but I haven’t tried yet. oh did I mention this is PC exclusive…no…well it is. the graphic can be viewed as a down side considering that there reminiscent of the 90′s but it okay because this game is fun.\

umit would have been better to say early 2000 cuz 90s was the move from 16 bit to 3D (or 64 bit (SNES to Nintendo 64)) and the graphics are not THAT bad

+1 to this review. M+B is a little known but very good rpg.
Also, pc is the only way to go obv. A game being PC exclusive is a good thing.
