Welcome to meteorological Fall, which began on September 1st. Hurricane Earl or Tropical Storm Earl is now long gone and in its wake a refreshing cool airmass has been brought down from Canada in the wake of a cold front. You may have noticed it was breezy today with winds occasionally gusting to 30 mph, but this should change as we head towards the start of next week. High pressure builds in for tomorrow and Labor day, temperatures will hover in the low-mid 80′s for the next two days. This area of high pressure will (of course) slide offshore and what do you know, another heat pump takes over by midweek on Southwesterly winds. Another weak cold front approaches the area by midweek, ending a two day stretch of low 90s and our temperatures fall back into the 80′s for the end of next week and the start of next weekend. DCA has officially record 60 90+ days. Congratulations! See you next time, congratulations on the start of the school year!
