Naval Assault: Killing Tide

What should I say about this game?  Perhaps that this is one of the most realistic games I have ever played? Perhaps that it shows a side of WWII that is not often shown in video games? No, I know what to say: this game is horrible and atrocious. Everything about this game is (and I’m going to bold and italicize this so you remember) BAD.  Sure, it is realistic, but that doesn’t always mean good. The game works in Battlefield platform, but that doesn’t add to it. Imagine Mario as realistic, or Metroid or any Nintendo game.  They don’t work in the Battlefield platform, and neither does this.

On a second note, the graphics are that of an early Xbox game (that’s Xbox without the 360). Normally with good game play I overlook bad graphics, but this does not even have good game play. In fact, this is a game where you are mostly traveling under water. Apparently there are no reefs or fish in the ocean in this game, because there’s only sand and rocks. I mean, the travel under water wouldn’t be that bad if you could see a group of dolphins or a shark or something down there. Also, in a game where you have to distinguish civilian ships from military ships, it doesn’t help that literally all of this ships look the same. The only thing you can use to differentiate the ships is that some are shorter and some have invisible guns.

In writing this I have saved what is typically the best for last: the game play. The gameplay is…well…it’s überlotheable. That’s it, überlotheable. So BAD, I actually had to invent a new word. This game is frustrating, confusing, difficult, confusing, repetitive, and confusing …did I mention Frustrating (HA you totally though I was going to say confusing again)? It was also very repetitive; it seemed that each level (of the four I could stand to play) was the same as the last. Yes it’s true I only played the first four levels, but a game should be able to hold someone’s attention for at least five levels. I mean, this game was so frustrating that it made me want to play Halo 3 with the difficulty of Halo: CE’s legendary mode with all skulls on and three team killing dirt bags, just in order to relieve myself of the mental pain playing “Naval Assault: Killing Tide” caused me.

Now for the rating: 5 out of 5. No, just kidding, I give it a 1 out of 5. I would give it a 0 out of 5, but the fact that the game actually exists prevents me from doing so.
For the purchase suggestion: DO NOT BUY THIS GAME….EVER….FOR ANY REASON. Even if someone is giving it to you for free, decline until they also offer an extra 10 dollars. Then consider it.
