Remember last week where most of us were sweating out the high heat with temperatures reaching over 100 F, albeit a dry heat? The welcome news is that this week will not feature any 100 degree readings. Weak disturbances will help induce more cloud cover and thunderstorm chances. We will start the week off with dry heat and highs in the low 90′s. However, the early to mid part of the week is a different story. Monday features a chance of scattered thunderstorms and showers across the area as the first weak disturbance passes through. Rainfall amounts will vary depending on where the thunderstorms form. Rain looks likely for Monday as well as Tuesday. Highs for both days will be near 90 F. The second weak storm and its trailing cold front will get closer on Tuesday and there could be a slight chance of severe thunderstorms forming. The best chance of rain looks to be on Tuesday as most of the area may pick up between 1-2″ of rain. The weak front should clear the area by Wednesday morning. This will allow temperatures to reach into the low to mid 90′s by Wednesday afternoon. A warming trend follows suit. That’s it for this week’s update. See you next time. See graphical forecast below.
