That’s right, more snow, woohoo!!! The stretch of nice sunny days with not as frigid temperatures has been suspended for the time being. The area of storminess we will be dealing with tonight into tomorrow originates out of the Gulf of Mexico, it has tapped into quite a lot of gulf moisture. This storm is now located near Cape Hatteras, NC. From here on out, the low pressure will head out to sea due to an area of low pressure over Canada, that is not allowing the current storm enough room to go all the way up the coast. Accumulations will be limited if any tonight due to the storm being far enough offshore that not enough heavy precipitation will fall to overcome the warm temperatures. The warm temperatures due to the lack of a cold air source, also do not support any appreciative snowfall. Rain should change over to snow later tonight and possibly back to rain by tomorrow afternoon. Here is a snowfall accumulation map for tonight, see below.
