Cats I would like to start by recognizing the fact that I have had both a cat and a dog, I say this because I don’t want people to complain about my not seeing the other side of the argument. I see both sides very clearly. Having had experience with both pets I can tell you without bias that cats are better pets than dogs. Now, I’m not saying they are far superior to dogs, just that they are better overall pets. I will admit a dog’s affection to it’s master is nearly impossible to rival, however there is more to a pet than loyalty. Specifically I will have to say a cat is less work for more reward. I know that some might say, “Cats aren’t as much fun as dogs!” or “Dogs are sooooo much more affectionate than cats!” As I said before, the latter is true. With a cat you can have more fun. For example my cat plays fetch(using paperclips), and if you have a string toy you can play with them, and they will try to stalk and kill the feather or bell on the end. Unless you have a cat or have played this game with a cat you can’t really grasp how funny it is to watch and how much fun it is to play. As I approach my 300-word limit wishing it was a 500-word limit. I must address the other point of my argument: The amount of work that one puts in to taking care of their pet. A dog must be walked (even during irregular 3 foot snow storms), fed on a schedule, and be cleaned up after, during said walk. However a cat only needs their dish refilled about once every 2-3 days, and the litter box cleaned every 1-2 days, giving you the option of taking a 2-3 day trip without having to find a cat sitter. |

Dogs Comrades, hear this and this argument shall be easy to understand and even easier to deliberate upon: The cat is your greatest enemy and the Dog is your only salvation. Cats are cruel and vicious creatures that show no true love towards their human companions. Cats revel in pain and take pleasure in suffering, as evident in the fact that a cat will maim their pray and then present the bloody and dismembered, yet still shaking, remains to you, their “master”. Although cats have no need of any sort of master or companion. Unlike Dogs, a cat has no need of any sort of friendship. The feline menace only lives with any human out of convenience. Some may say that this sort of independence is what makes cats appealing, but this could not be farther from the truth. You may have bought Fluffy the feline when she was just a kitten and grown to lover her. But the sad reality is that Fluffy will never love you. Cats don’t have the capacity to love; they are heartless beings who hunt the dark corners of the earth and the houses of people, preying upon the human weakness of compassion. Thankfully, there is something in this world to counteract the hatred and viciousness of felines. The Dog is the polar opposite of the vile cat and is so unlike it in numerous ways. The majority of Dogs are lovers of humanity and Dogs were among the first creatures to be domesticated. A Dog will always be a humble companion through the thick and thin. They are the ultimate pet and cannot be bested, especially by the insidious cat. Remember, comrades, don’t fall prey to the diabolical machinations of the insidious animals of the feline persuasion. |

The Art Baron was right that cats are cold unlovable creatures. Frequently, cats wander in my yard, instead of playing with their owners. Whenever I even set foot within the presence of a cat, it runs away.
Also, my friend has a cat, this cat never associates with its human companions, except when its food bowl is empty. When ever its human companions try to play with it, the cat resists at all costs.
The robot baron’s cat must be half dog, or the robot baron exaggerates.

Robot Baron clearly because HE USES FACTS and didn’t just spout “dogs are evil cats are better” unlike Art Baron. To all the dog people out there, personally I disagree (cats are better!!) but that’s largely irrelevant as Art Baron DOESN’T ACTUALLY BACK UP HIS ARGUMENT WITH ANYTHING. Just throwing that out there.
Just because someone tries to use emotional appeals doesn’t mean one should overlook blatant holes in their argument. Cats are vicious because they chase mice? Cats are cruel because they’re independent? Cats will never be attached to their owners? Back it up with something that’s not some bogus opinion.
Art Baron actually uses decent reasoning in his (her?) argument, that cats are still very fun pets to have and they take much less work than dogs. While the first could be seen as an opinion, if it weren’t true nobody would keep cats as pets. It’s not because I agree with Art Baron, but because I think art Baron makes the better (although maybe not more emotionally compelling) argument for his/her side.

It does no mean the Westboro Baptist Church is right, it means they are the better debaters.
