Debate-a-bowl: The Battle of Rhetoric

We are pleased to announce BCC’s first Debate-a-Bowl- a rhetorical competition!  The competition will consist of several rounds, bracket-style. Each writer will be paired with another and the pair will be assigned a point-of-view to argue from a certain topic, for example, McDonald’s versus Burger King. Writers should use every rhetorical technique at their disposal to create the piece that argues the point most effectively. There will be prizes (in the form of lucrative gift cards)! My compatriots and I have developed an awesome list of topics, so get ready and invite some friends!

First Round Entries will be posted on Friday March 26th.

First Round Winners will be announced by April 2nd

Second Round begins after Spring Break.

Good Luck to all!!!

love the passion. sorry about the delay. Between icon development, end of quarter, I got a bit behind. Please check again tonight. You all did a great job. The first round is the most harried. After that, the rest are a cake walk. Judges will have results by end of week. 2nd round begins after spring break.
