The next winter storm will be approaching our area on Christmas day and will start out as a period of wintry mix or freezing rain changing to rain after about 9 AM. This is due to the warm air that will be intruding the area shortly after sunrise. There is not enough cold air at the upper levels of the atmosphere to support an all snow event or frozen precipitation.
For this storm we can expect our highs to top out near 40 F and the low will drop around 24 F. After this storm goes by we should see some colder temperatures with highs near 40 each day and lows around 25 F. Prior to this storm we should see temperatures in the mid 30′s with lows around 20 F.
