The Men Who Stare at Goats satiates three important criteria; Ewan McGregor, George Clooney, and LSD spiked eggs. This satire critiques some of the more absurd aspects of the United States military by highlighting the men of the once (actually) existent paranormal battalion, a group led in the film by a hippie stoner played fittingly by Jeff Bridges.  What keeps this enjoyable film from being great boils down to a lack of substance. The script is occasionally witty but more often than not goes for the cheap giggle, and cannot decide whether it wants to be a serious critique of the military or just a comedy. All in all, I recommend this film for a few laughs and a great cast, but not much else.
